With the Mazda MX-5 NC2 2.0 already having a Forged Steel crankshaft the engine is ready for an upgrade using Supertech Alloy High Tensile Strength Con Rods and Forged Pistons.

Con Rods:

Set of 4. SuperTech H-Beam connecting rods are manufactured from a high tensile strength 4340 alloy, offering excellent wear and fatigue resistance in optimal conditions. Comes with ARP 2000 bolts capable of achieving a clamp load of 220,000 psi. SuperTech rods are rated for 150hp/Cylinder (600 hp for a 4 cylinder).

Pistons:

Set of 4. Wrist pins and piston rings included.

Supertech pistons are manufactured from extruded high silicon, enhanced 4032 alloy (with additional Cu, Ni & Mg) that has low thermal expansion and features excellent wear resistance. Additionally, the inclusion of enhanced 4032 alloy offers a much higher thermal conductivity. Using this alloy our Supertech pistons have withstood up to 42psi of turbo boost with alcohol, without any problems.

A multi-step forging process yields a fine structural grain orienting the fibres in the same direction of the stress. Combine this with several heat treatments and our pistons feature an evenly distributed hardness and extremely high tensile strength.

From there each Supertech piston goes through several machining steps specifically designed to ensure dimensional precision, perpendicularity and flatness of the ring grooves. All Supertech pistons feature reduction grooves, honed and reamed pin bores for the most precise fit. Supertech wrist pins are constructed of cold extruded chrome moly steel for high strength to be used with wire clip locks. Supertech pistons are finished in their "phosphate dry lubricant" coating that is applied to protect the rings against "micro welding" and enhance lubrication on the skirt/cylinder area.
